Cui Bono is a 2015 Gunboat 60 catamaran built in composite with twin 110 hp Yammer diesel engines. This 60-foot multihull is designed for both performance sailing and comfortable cruising, with a shallow draft of 3.5 feet that allows anchoring and navigation in shallow waters. The boat has proven itself during extended offshore passages and cruising stints across New England, the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and New Zealand.
The layout centers around open-plan living, with a large aft deck lounge area and dining space suited for entertaining. Four guest cabins and four heads provide accommodation for families and crew. The boat operates efficiently under power, achieving 8.5 knots in flat water from its twin engines, and is capable of sustained high-speed sailing when conditions allow.
Recent maintenance reflects a comprehensive approach to upkeep. In 2023, the boat received new downwind sails, a water maker, batteries, and large hatches. A full five-year rig service was completed that autumn, with standing rigging sent to Europe for inspection. A six-month yard period addressed hydraulics, systems, and rigging throughout. The boat handles well under the management of a small crew, requiring just one person for maintenance during dormancy and two crew for active operation, though four are recommended for longer passages.
