The Italia Yachts 13.98 is a 47-foot performance cruiser built in composite, designed by Maurizio Cossutti and widely recognized as a benchmark in her class. The hull form combines fine entry with balanced proportions, delivering both racing capability and extended cruising comfort. She won European Yacht of the Year in 2013 and was named Best Sailboat of the Year by both SAIL and Cruising World magazines. Power comes from a single 55-horsepower Volvo Penta diesel engine.
The interior accommodates three cabins and two heads, reflecting thoughtful layout and Italian craftsmanship throughout. The deck plan is ergonomic and refined, supporting both competitive racing and ocean passage-making with equal competency.
Recent years have brought significant upgrades. A comprehensive bottom job was completed in 2024 with new Marelon through-hull fittings and seacocks. The 2025 season brought a fresh Quantum sail inventory including J4, stay sails, Code 0, and storm jib with Ubi Maior furlers. A custom shipyard-built bowsprit was installed, and the rig was removed, inspected, and serviced by M-Yachts. The hydraulic backstay and boom vang were rebuilt with new struts and lines. Additional systems installed include Starlink mini, Vesper Cortex VHF and AIS, Sailor FleetOne satellite communications, and a Revere eight-person offshore liferaft. The air conditioning systems, fuel separator, and various other mechanical and electrical components have all been recently renewed or upgraded.
