The 2015 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 509 is a 50-foot offshore cruising sailboat designed by Philippe Briand. Built on a fiberglass hull, she combines performance sailing with comfortable cruising capabilities. A single 75-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine with saildrive propulsion delivers reliable power and manageable handling in confined spaces. She cruises at 7.5 knots and carries a CE Category A offshore rating.
The deck layout supports both short-handed sailing and coastal cruising. Twin helm stations, wide walk-around decks, a high-aspect sail plan, and a large folding swim platform are integrated into the design. The cockpit is laid out for easy operation and deck work.
Below deck, four cabins and four heads accommodate extended cruising. The salon is spacious with good natural light, and the galley is well-fitted. Layout options and attention to detail throughout reflect the quality build expected of Jeanneau's design.
