The 2015 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 509 is a 50-foot cruising sailboat built on a fiberglass hull. Powered by a Yanmar diesel engine of 75 horsepower, the boat combines strong sailing performance with practical handling characteristics suitable for coastal and ocean passages. The design delivers generous interior volume while maintaining solid seagoing qualities.

The layout comprises five cabins including an independent skipper's cabin in the forward peak, alongside four heads. The yacht features electric Harken winches, a bow thruster, and a full suit of standing rigging replaced in 2020 along with a new mainsail and jib. Navigation and electronics are comprehensive and functional.

Recent upgrades have focused on energy independence and reliability. A 600-amp-hour LiFePO4 lithium battery bank was installed in 2024, supported by 850 watts of solar panels and a modernized Victron electrical system. A 6,000-watt generator provides backup power when needed. The Yanmar engine has accumulated 2,700 hours.

The boat is ready for sea and equipped to support extended cruising, whether for family voyages, ocean passages, or charter operation.
