2015 Marlow-Hunter 40

The 2015 Marlow-Hunter 40 is a 40-foot fiberglass sailing yacht built for comfortable cruising. Powered by a Yanmar 40-horsepower diesel engine, the boat cruises at 7.2 knots and reaches a maximum speed of 8.5 knots. The rigging includes an in-mast furling mainsail, a 110% genoa with roller furler, and four self-tailing winches plus an electric winch for efficient sail handling. Dual helm stations and a large drop-down swim platform provide convenient control and water access. The yacht features a Bimini and dodger for weather protection, and a bow thruster for maneuvering.

Below deck, accommodations include two cabins and two heads with showers. The forward cabin has a queen berth with hanging lockers and storage, while the aft cabin offers a large double berth. The main salon features a U-shaped dinette that converts into a berth and a settee. The galley is equipped with a refrigerator and freezer, two-burner propane stove with oven, microwave, and double sink. Both cabins and the salon benefit from reverse-cycle air conditioning and heating.

The electrical and mechanical systems are comprehensive. Navigation and communication equipment includes Raymarine chartplotter, autopilot, wind, depth, speed, and radar displays, plus dual VHF radios. Entertainment systems include a stereo with Bluetooth and SiriusXM, Blu-ray and DVD player, and speakers. Power generation relies on a Yanmar 40-horsepower diesel with approximately 1,738 hours, an Onan generator with roughly 367 hours, and a Magnum Energy charger-inverter system.

Recent work completed includes new long windows on both sides, interior woodwork refinishing in the aft cabin and galley, fresh bottom paint, and refinished teak. The bow thruster and controls were serviced in 2024. The yacht also carries dinghy davits, life jackets, a horseshoe liferaft, and delta anchor with chain and rode.
