The 2016 Aquila 44 is a fiberglass power catamaran built for extended cruising. At 44 feet in length with a 21.5-foot beam, the hull provides substantial volume and stability. Twin Volvo Penta diesel engines produce 450 horsepower combined and deliver a cruising speed of 14 knots with notably efficient fuel consumption. The boat carries a Northern Lights 9kW generator for onboard power.
The layout includes three cabins and three heads, arranged to maximize livable space across the dual hulls. Climate control throughout the boat is provided by five air conditioning units. Recent additions to the electrical systems include new battery banks and expanded solar capacity, supporting extended periods away from shore infrastructure. A new open-array radar was recently installed, and new isinglass with a roll-down aft enclosure enhances the aft deck area.
The twin engines and generator show moderate hours of use—approximately 1,050 hours on each engine and 1,272 hours on the generator. The boat was serviced prior to listing and represents a well-maintained example of this popular catamaran model.
