This 47-foot catamaran is a John Hughes design, originally built in 1987 and comprehensively rebuilt and relaunched in 2016. The boat combines carbon, fiberglass, and Kevlar construction with Dyneema shrouds throughout, engineered for weight savings and structural strength. Powered by a single 25 hp Yamaha engine, it achieves a cruising speed of 6.5 knots and a maximum speed of 8 knots under power.
The hull accommodates two cabins and one head, with a wide transom and retractable rudders and daggerboards that allow access to shallow anchorages and beaches. The layout is designed for easy single or short-handed sailing across varying skill levels.
The boat's construction represents significant investment in composite materials and engineering detail. Very little of the original 1987 structure remains, as the 2016 rebuild incorporated modern methods and materials throughout.
