This 2016 Hinckley Picnic Boat 37 MKIII is built on the builder's proven DualGuard composite construction, combining a Kevlar E-glass hybrid outer skin with carbon-fiber inner skin and aircraft-grade end-grain balsa below the waterline. The hull is finished in Flag Blue Awlgrip with cream gelcoat cabin house and cream double bootstripe, red bottom paint, and a stainless steel half-round rub rail. Power comes from twin Yanmar 8LV 370-horsepower common rail diesel engines driving Hamilton 274 jet drives, with ZF 220 transmissions and a 7-inch hydraulic variable thrust bow thruster. The boat reaches 32 knots and cruises at 28 knots, controlled via Hinckley's JetStick II system with Hoverlock and Heading Hold for precise maneuvering.
The pilothouse-forward design offers exceptional comfort and functionality. The cabin interior features the optional Island Queen berth arrangement with satin-varnished cherry cabinetry, 6 feet 2 inches of standing headroom, and galley to port with custom Corian countertops, stainless steel sink, Adler Barbour refrigeration, and 600-watt microwave. The private head to starboard includes a custom cherry vanity, Grohe fixtures, Sealand Vacu-Flush head, and storage throughout. The pilothouse accommodates a helmsman and navigator on optional Stidd seats with power adjustments and integral footrests, facing settees with storage, and a custom teak dining table with high-low base. The cockpit features optional teak decking with Sunbrella cushioning, transom door to the swim platform, optional refrigerator and cooler, and a shower with mixing valve.
Throughout, the boat showcases substantial teak detailing: full varnished teak package including dash, pilothouse liners, cockpit coamings, handrails on house top and aft pilothouse, teak eyebrow molding, toe rail, and optional teak decks in the pilothouse and cockpit with white caulk. The swim platform is clad in custom fore-and-aft teak decking and fitted with a stainless steel telescoping three-step folding ladder. Deck equipment includes a Muir electric windlass with polished Delta anchor, 25 feet of stainless chain, and 150 feet of rode, with windlass controls at the helm and wireless handheld remote. Navigation and entertainment are handled by Raymarine e165 chartplotter with 4kW radar, P70R autopilot, i70 multifunction display, Standard Horizon VHF radio, and FUSION stereo system with Bluetooth and satellite radio capability, all integrated with Alpine speakers throughout. The electrical system features 420-amp house batteries and 950-amp start batteries, shore power with dual 30-amp inlets, Victron inverter-charger, and optional 9-kilowatt Cummins generator.
