2016 Krogen 52

The Krogen 52 is a full-displacement trawler built for serious offshore cruising. With twin 125-horsepower John Deere diesel engines and a fiberglass hull reinforced with vinylester resin and aramid fiber below the waterline, the boat combines rugged construction with refined finishing. Hand-laid Knytex fiberglass, Cook gel coat, and closed-cell PVC core create a hull designed to handle extended blue-water passages. Teak adorns the aft and side decks, while GripTex non-skid covers the boat and fore decks for safety and traction.

The interior centers on an expansive saloon with dual weathertight doors opening to the teak aft deck and five large opening windows for light and ventilation. A U-shaped settee seats eight for dining, while reclining chairs provide a quiet retreat. The galley uses four Sub-Zero drawer refrigerators and freezers, a Blue Star four-burner stove, GE convection microwave, and dishwasher, with a custom granite counter separating it from the saloon. Three staterooms accommodate guests and crew: the master features a custom island king berth with six ventilation points and deep storage; the starboard guest cabin offers a walk-around queen; and the port den converts between den and third stateroom with a pull-out settee and Pullman berth. Two heads include private and shared configurations, both with granite vanities, glass-door showers, and ample ventilation.

Command and control live in the pilothouse and flybridge, where dual LeBroc helm chairs and comprehensive electronics—Furuno navigation and autopilot systems, AIS, radar, dual GPS, and a Green Marine 24-inch touch screen—support serious long-distance operation. The flybridge adds a second helm station, settee with Sunbrella cushions under a protective bimini, and a summer kitchen with propane grill. Hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, plus ABT Trac stabilizers, enhance handling in all conditions.

The engine room holds a Northern Lights 12-kilowatt generator, Mastervolt inverter and battery chargers, extensive fuel and water capacity, a water maker, and comprehensive safety systems including automatic fire suppression and multiple bilge pumps. A 12-person tender with outboard motor, davit system, dual windlasses, and full ground tackle round out the equipment. Recent service includes bottom paint in 2024, steering cylinder replacement in 2023, and windlass servicing in 2025.
