The 2016 Nautor Swan ClubSwan 50 is a composite racing cruiser built to competitive offshore and one-design specifications. Designed by Juan Kouyoumdijan, the hull employs pre-preg and Sprint carbon fiber construction throughout, with structural components kept under 2,000 kg total—including a 160 kg high-modulus carbon keel fin engineered to GL standards. A single 40 hp Volvo Penta diesel engine provides auxiliary power, with a cruising speed of 8 knots and maximum speed of 9 knots.
The accommodations consist of three cabins and two heads, arranged for comfortable extended cruising while maintaining the yacht's racing weight advantage. The interior has been finished with full teak in 2024.
Recent upgrades include full carbon rigging, a carbon twin backstay, new lithium batteries, and a new compass, all completed in 2024. A detailed 3D scan of the hull was performed to optimize keel and rudder alignment and hull symmetry. The boat carries two race sail sets: a full Set Sail North configuration used for a single race in 2023, and a second set from 2022 for training. She is rigged for both one-design and IRC offshore racing and carries a complete offshore inventory.
