The 2016 Outremer 45 is a composite catamaran designed for serious bluewater cruising under sail. Built by the French yard Outremer, the design reflects decades of refinement focused on light displacement, simplicity, and performance. The hull features integral daggerboards for upwind capability and shallow-water access, a protected helm and cockpit suited to ocean passages, and a beam of 23.5 feet that provides exceptional stability and interior volume. Power comes from two 60-horsepower Yanmar diesels with saildrives, recently serviced.
The boat is configured as a three-cabin, two-head owner's version with the master suite spanning the entire starboard hull and two guest cabins to port. The main salon offers panoramic visibility and natural ventilation, with a convertible dinette for both passage-making and entertaining. The galley operates entirely on electricity—induction cooktop and combination oven/microwave—eliminating propane from the system. A 75-liter-per-hour watermaker provides independent freshwater generation.
Systems throughout are modern and well-equipped. Power comes from 1100 watts of solar generation paired with a 1200-amp-hour lithium house bank installed in 2023. Navigation relies on a full Raymarine B&G suite including Zeus3 multifunction displays at the chart table, helm station, and owner's cabin, with Starlink Mini hardwired for communications. The sail inventory includes mainsail, jib, genoa, code 0, and asymmetrical spinnaker from North Sails in 3Di construction.
The boat has been comprehensively maintained, with all systems serviced or replaced within the past two years. The bilges are clean, exterior cushions show no mold or deterioration, and an organized inventory of spare parts is included. The cockpit enclosure is believed unused.
