The 2017 Beneteau Sense 57 is a 57-foot monohull that redefined how cruising sailboats balance performance with living space. Designed by Berret-Racoupeau naval architects with interiors by Nauta Design, the boat features a full-length hard chine hull with twin rudders, enabling responsive handling and strong performance in moderate to heavy wind. A single 110 hp Yanmar diesel engine powers the yacht, paired with a 10 kW generator and a freshwater watermaker for extended cruising autonomy.
The layout centers on a defining design innovation: removing the traditional separation between cockpit and saloon. Rather than a steep ladder, just three shallow steps at a gentle angle connect the outdoor helm area to the interior, creating seamless flow between the social cockpit space and the galley. All three staterooms and three heads are positioned forward of the mast, isolating living quarters from engine noise and vibration. The master suite includes an island bed, leather dressing table, and substantial hanging storage. Guest cabins feature sliding doors to maximize usable floor space. Alpi walnut and lacquered cabinetry throughout the interior establish a refined modern aesthetic.
The yacht is outfitted with full electronics, in-mast furling, air conditioning, powered winches, and electric helm seats with a concealed outdoor galley featuring grill and sink. A hydraulic swim platform lowers flush with the water at anchor, and the cockpit is protected by a semi-hardtop Bimini with retractable fabric sections. Custom davits rated for bluewater cruising are installed, along with a full canvas cockpit enclosure. Twin rudders and electric winches positioned near the helm enable short-handed sailing and confident maneuvering in confined spaces.
