2017 Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40

The 2017 Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40 is a 40-foot sailing catamaran with a 21-foot beam, built in fiberglass. Designed by Berret-Racoupeau, this model combines the deck space and stability of larger catamarans with a manageable size for family or single-handed sailing. The boat features a distinctive forward-sloping coachroof, wide flat decks with flush hatches, and a raised helm station where all lines and winches are within easy reach. Two upgraded 30-horsepower Yanmar diesel engines with new saildrives (July 2025) and new Volvo propellers (2024) power the yacht, supported by 79 gallons of fuel capacity.

Accommodations consist of three cabins and three heads. The starboard hull is dedicated to a private primary suite with a large island bed, extensive storage, and an ensuite head featuring a separate shower stall. The port hull houses two guest cabins, each with its own ensuite head. The main salon and galley flow seamlessly through expansive windows and sliding doors, with a galley equipped with a three-burner propane stove, Eno oven, dual-basin stainless steel sink, refrigerator with drawers, and freezer.

The rigging and sails have been recently updated: a fully battened mainsail with two reefing points and Sunbrella cover (February 2026), and an Incidence genoa with ProFurl system (October 2025). An electric winch at the helm controls the mainsail, while manual winches assist with jib sheets. The mast has a bridge clearance of 64 feet, suitable for ICW passage. A Rocna 55-pound anchor with quick windlass and remote control handle mooring duties.

Onboard systems include three 165-watt solar panels and 480 ampere-hours of house lithium batteries, supplemented by a Cummins Onan 7.5 generator with new stator, rotor, belt, and pulley (January 2025 service). Three Dometic reverse-cycle air conditioning units provide climate control throughout. Navigation and entertainment are managed by a Raymarine 12-inch chartplotter, autopilot, two VHF radios, and a Fusion sound system installed in 2023. The cockpit features a large teak table, L-shaped settee seating eight, electric dinghy davits, a stainless steel propane grill, and a two-compartment 12-volt freezer. Helm and partial cockpit enclosures with Sunbrella fabric were added in 2025. Antifoulant bottom paint was applied in October 2025. Safety equipment includes a liferaft, multiple PFDs, flare kit, fire extinguishers, bilge pumps, and spare anchor and rode.
