2017 Lagoon 42

The 2017 Lagoon 42 is a fiberglass catamaran built around an owner's layout, powered by twin 57 hp Yanmar diesel engines. Her reduced mast height of 64'4"—shortened in 2023—provides added clearance for East Coast cruising while remaining a rare feature among 42-foot catamarans. The helm sits at mid-height on the coach roof, offering clear sightlines and weather protection, with direct communication between cockpit and saloon and convenient access to deck systems.

Accommodation spans three cabins and three heads with generous storage throughout. The saloon connects seamlessly to the cockpit through suspended transom steps that create one continuous, wide platform. The galley includes both a top-loading and conventional fridge-freezer arrangement, while an extra fridge sits in the cockpit. Power comes from a 13.5 kW Onan generator, a 3000W inverter, 440 watts of solar panels, and 1650 Ah of lithium batteries installed in late 2022.

Navigation and entertainment systems include full Garmin electronics with chart plotter, autopilot, AIS, and radar, plus dual handheld VHF units and a Fusion stereo throughout the boat. Cruising amenities include a 26 GPH water maker, 48K BTU air conditioning, a washer-dryer, and a liferaft with three-year warranty. Deck gear features a hard-top Bimini with sliding panel, isinglass helm enclosure, sunshades, and twin anchors—a primary 65 lb Mantus and secondary Rocna.

Recent upgrades in 2023 and 2024 include new Doyle mainsail and stack pack, replacement propeller, rigging inspection with Dynema halyard upgrade, and full engine service. Air conditioning and engine oil service were completed in late 2024, with hull buffing and waxing in spring 2025. A trampoline was installed in 2022, and an asymmetric spinnaker added in late 2023.
