2017 Ranger Tugs R-27

The 2017 Ranger Tugs R-27 is a 27-foot fiberglass trawler powered by a single 200 hp Volvo diesel engine. The design prioritizes usable deck space, with nearly 50 square feet of aft deck that provides straightforward access to the engine while isolating noise from the cabin. The 8.5-foot beam allows the boat to trailer easily, and twin thrusters—bow and stern—deliver excellent handling at the dock.

The cabin layout accommodates cruising couples and small crews. The forward V-berth sleeps two adults in a space exceeding 6 feet 5 inches, and a folding office desk converts the area into a third berth if needed. Amidship, an office nook with desk and seat doubles as a two-person berth. The dinette table pivots on an air piston, converting between dining, lounging, and sleeping configurations. A full galley includes a sink, refrigerator, microwave, propane stove and oven, and inverter. The head features an electric flush toilet, glass sink, and shower.

Systems and equipment reflect thoughtful outfitting. Garmin electronics include a VHF radio, GPS plotter, and handset. Climate control comes from an FCF heating and cooling system. Solar panels feed an inverter to support onboard power. Additional conveniences include a Fusion audio system with Bluetooth and satellite radio, a Lewmar windlass, a Morningstar battery monitor, and a Nova Kool refrigerator. Batteries are one year old.
