The Italia Yachts 9.98 is a 34-foot racing sailboat built in 2018 with a fiberglass hull and refined Italian design. Known as one of the most successful boats in ORC Class C, it combines competitive performance with genuine cruising capability. The hull displaces 4,550 kg, with a beam of 11.58 feet and draft of 1.90 meters. Power comes from a Volvo Penta D1-19 diesel engine rated at 19 horsepower, with approximately 330 hours on the engine.
The boat sleeps six and carries a comprehensive sail wardrobe assembled over recent seasons. In 2025, it received a major upgrade including new carbon jibs, an A2 gennaker, and a full Raymarine B&G instrument package with Hercules sailing processor, Zeus 9-inch touchscreen display, and H3000 speed sensor. Hydraulic and electric backstay adjusters with push-button controls are installed. Additional sails include carbon mainsails and jibs from 2022 and 2024, along with unused spinnakers and storm mainsail.
Navigation and safety equipment includes Vulcan chartplotter, Triton autopilot with dual displays, dual Garmin GNX mast displays, Icom VHF radio, and Em-Trak Class B AIS. The boat features shore power connection, two lithium batteries, hot water boiler, 60-liter holding tank, 60-liter fridge box, Harken winches, and Tuff Luff forestay system.
