This 2018 Jeanneau 51 is a fiberglass-hulled sailing yacht designed by Philippe Briand for bluewater cruising and extended passagemaking. Her shoal draft keel draws just 5'8", opening access to shallow cruising grounds like the Chesapeake Bay and Bahamas while maintaining the seaworthiness needed for offshore passages. A Yanmar 110 HP diesel engine with shaft drive and Max-Prop feathering propeller provides reliable auxiliary power, supported by an 8 kW Onan generator and dual fuel tanks totaling 127 gallons.
The sail plan emphasizes versatility and ease of handling. An in-mast furling mainsail, upgraded X-Grid Mylar sails, Code Zero, and asymmetrical spinnaker with pole allow efficient sailing across varying wind conditions. Electric winches, a bow thruster, and well-considered deck layout enable shorthanded operation. On deck, a Mantus 85 lb anchor with 200 feet of chain, anchor windlass with remote control, and Winslow liferaft certified through June 2028 form part of the safety suite. A 20 HP Tohatsu-powered Highfield tender is mounted on a custom arch.
Accommodations include three cabins and two heads finished in Alpi oak. The master stateroom forward features a queen berth with en-suite head and separate shower. The main saloon offers an L-shaped settee with convertible table that lowers into a queen berth, plus a second settee functioning as a sea berth. The aft VIP cabin and starboard aft cabin each provide queen and double berths respectively. A U-shaped galley includes Corian countertops, three-burner stove with oven, dual refrigeration, and ice maker.
Below deck systems support extended independence: a watermaker, washer and dryer, solar array, large battery bank, and three-zone air conditioning. Water capacity reaches 169 gallons. Navigation relies on a Raymarine electronics suite with dual Axiom Pro displays, autopilot with gyrocompass, AIS Class B transceiver, and Quantum radar. The Yanmar engine and Onan generator were both serviced in October 2025; bottom paint was completed in April 2026.
