2018 Lagoon 42

The 2018 Lagoon 42 is a spacious cruising catamaran built on a fiberglass hull with a broad 25-foot beam and efficient twin Yanmar diesel engines. The boat is laid out for six cabins with accommodation for up to twelve guests, making it equally suited for family cruising, long-distance passagemaking, or charter operations. The design emphasizes open living with seamless flow between the aft cockpit and saloon, abundant natural light, and generous outdoor areas ideal for entertaining.

The interior combines Alpi blond oak joinery with dark laminate flooring and includes four double cabins with private en-suite bathrooms and separate showers, two forepeak cabins, and a convertible saloon berth. The galley faces toward the cockpit for social cooking, while the teak-laid cockpit features a large dining table and ample seating beneath a composite bimini with windscreen. Ventilation is provided by cabin and saloon fans, and the interior is outfitted with indirect LED lighting, USB charging ports, and a Fusion sound system in the saloon and cockpit.

The catamaran comes well equipped for extended cruising and offshore work. Systems include a comprehensive B&G navigation suite with a 12-inch chartplotter at the helm, VHF with wireless handset, WiFi module, and integrated 3G/4G connectivity. The galley features a 130-liter fridge-freezer plus an additional 100-liter top-loading refrigerator, a three-burner gas stove with oven, and a hot water boiler. Power systems comprise four 140Ah service batteries plus two start batteries, a 40-amp shore power charger, and an extra 300-liter fuel tank alongside the standard tank. The boat carries four electric toilets with holding tanks and a 300-liter freshwater tank.

Sailing is managed with an upgraded Dacron square-top mainsail, self-tacking furling jib, and a lazy bag for mainsail handling. All halyards and control lines are led aft to the helm station for short-handed operation, supported by three manual winches and an electric maneuvering winch. The twin Yammer engines, each rated 57 hp with approximately 4,500 hours logged, are serviced according to schedule and fitted with double cooling systems and seawater filters. Safety gear includes a liferaft, horseshoe lifebuoys with light, life sling recovery system, fire extinguishers, safety harnesses, and jacklines.
