The Bavaria Vision 42 is a 2019 sailing yacht developed by Bavaria Yachts in collaboration with Farr Yacht Design and input from sailors worldwide. At 42 feet with a 13.3-foot beam, the boat features a fiberglass hull and was designed to balance performance with comfortable cruising. The design emphasizes spacious interiors and seakeeping ability for extended passages.
The layout accommodates two cabins plus saloon sleeping for seven persons total. The forward owner's cabin has a double bed and ensuite, while the aft guest cabin offers a bed convertible between king-size and twin configuration. The saloon is bright and airy with large windows and deck hatches; an electrically adjustable table converts the sofa into additional sleeping berth, and navigation-area armchairs fold out as sofas. The split galley provides good support at sea with ample storage, and a starboard head includes a separate shower. A large storage locker aft connects to the cockpit seating. Cockpit design emphasizes comfort and control, with an electrically adjustable dining table, spacious seating converting to a sun bed, and a folding bathing platform aft.
The boat is equipped for easy handling and cruising, including a Seldén in-mast furling system, bow thruster, electric windlass, shallow-draft keel, and a 50 hp Diesel engine with three-blade folding propeller. Recent upgrades include a custom stainless steel targa arch with davits and solar panels, lithium battery bank with Victron charger and inverter, and a watermaker. Navigation relies on B&G systems.
Interior appointments feature teak throughout, upgraded mattresses with memory foam, a heater for cooler climates, and a deluxe lighting package. The cockpit is fully cushioned with teak decking on the platform and at the helm. A removable cockpit canopy converts between full weather protection and a Bimini configuration for sunny conditions.
