The 2019 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 490 is a fiberglass sailing yacht built by the respected French shipyard and designed for serious cruising. At nearly 49 feet, she offers the space and capability needed for extended passages and larger groups. The boat is powered by a Yanmar diesel engine and carries a 240-liter fuel tank. Her fiberglass construction with a round bilge hull shape and aluminum mast rigging provide durability and good sailing characteristics across a range of conditions.
The interior sleeps eight across four cabins plus a skipper's berth, each with independent access to heads and showers—four electric toilets in total. Accommodations include a refrigerator with wine cooler, a water system with 640 liters of storage, and a CEBILON drinking water filtration system. A 2000W inverter and five 115Ah batteries support 12V and 220V systems onboard, while an electric galley stove and oven support meal preparation for groups.
Navigation and electronics are comprehensive: a Raymarine suite including an AXIOM 9 chart plotter, p70s autopilot, i70s depth gauge and wind meter, and a rudder position indicator integrated into the autopilot. The rig carries 112 square meters of Dacron sail area with an automatic mainsail and roller headsail system. Deck equipment includes an electric anchor winch with galvanized chain, and the boat is CE certified for ocean sailing.
