2019 Kadey-Krogen 44 AE

The 2019 Kadey-Krogen 44 AE is a fiberglass trawler built for extended passagemaking and comfortable long-distance cruising. Powered by a single 160-horsepower John Deere diesel engine, she delivers a cruising speed of 7.5 knots and a maximum speed of 9 knots, with the fuel efficiency and range characteristic of the design. At 44 feet in length with a 16-foot beam, she offers a practical platform for serious offshore work.

The interior follows the popular half-bath layout with an ensuite master head and second full head. Accommodations include a full-size washer and dryer, full-size refrigerator, and galley appliances. The flybridge features a propane grill with dedicated cabinet storage. A comprehensive Garmin electronics suite and FLIR thermal-vision system support navigation and situational awareness, while a radar arch and Steelhead ES 1000 davit complete the operational setup.

Recent upgrades center on redundancy and self-sufficiency. A Victron lithium electrical conversion completed in 2024-2025 pairs with high-capacity Epoch batteries totaling 1,840 amp-hours, enabling reduced generator runtime and multi-day independent operation. A SeaXchange 50 GPH water maker with new membranes installed in February 2025 supports extended cruising. Dockmate remote engine control aids single-handed maneuvering. Fresh bottom paint and Propspeed protection were applied in September 2025.
