The Outremer 45 is a performance cruising catamaran built for ocean passages and high-mileage sailing. This 2019 model features composite construction with an aluminum mast, twin 60 hp Volvo Penta diesel engines, and a design philosophy centred on seaworthiness, light weight, and efficiency under sail. The hull delivers stable passage-making at strong averages and has proven its capability for rapid, secure ocean crossings.
The sail plan is comprehensive and oriented toward sustained performance. Main and jib sails in Hydranet from Incidence provide excellent shape retention and durability for long passages. The inventory includes a heavy-weather spinnaker suited to trade winds, a Code 0 for close reaching in light conditions, and a versatile Code D for intermediate downwind angles—allowing full use of the boat's potential while maintaining simple, controlled handling. Navigation is supported by a complete B&G electronics suite, standard for offshore reliability. Solar panels of 1400 W supply daily power needs.
The deck features a carbon bimini and full canopy for effective sun and weather protection in tropical conditions. A washing machine adds comfort during extended anchorages. Below, the layout comprises three double cabins, natural ventilation, substantial stowage, and an L-shaped galley secured for heavy weather. The interior design reflects Outremer's offshore ethos: efficient, durable, and easy to maintain. This boat was built at La Grande Motte in 2019 and has completed a passage to French Polynesia, demonstrating the ocean-crossing capability for which it was designed.
