This 2019 Outremer 51 is a fiberglass catamaran built for extended blue-water cruising. Powered by twin Volvo diesel engines of 80 horsepower each, the boat measures 51 feet in length with a 24-foot beam, offering the stability and load capacity the design is known for. The three-cabin layout provides comfortable accommodation for families sailing long distances.
The boat was commissioned new in April 2019 and spent its first four years cruising the Mediterranean, where the builder's yard handled all maintenance. In 2024, it departed Europe and completed a 25,000-nautical-mile passage to New Zealand via the Caribbean, Panama Canal, and French Polynesia—a voyage undertaken with careful seamanship and consistent upkeep throughout.
Recent refits include a new Marechal Z Spars aluminum mast with stainless steel rigging installed in 2023, and shroud and martingale work completed in 2025. The sail inventory from Hydranet Incidence includes a self-tacking jib suited for passage work. The boat has been hauled since arriving in New Zealand and is ready for continued cruising.
