The 2019 Seawind 1190 Sport is a high-performance cruising catamaran built on a fiberglass hull, measuring 39 feet in length with a 21-foot beam. Designed for both speed and comfort, the boat features high-aspect retractable daggerboards and rudders for excellent upwind performance and shallow-draft capability. A tall rig with increased sail area, double-spreader configuration, and high-aspect mainsail and jib deliver strong light-air performance. Carbon fibre and advanced composite construction keep weight low, supporting responsive handling.
The boat accommodates three cabins and two heads, arranged for extended cruising comfort. Sail handling is designed for efficiency and short-handed operation: a self-tacking jib, twin helm stations, electric winches, an electric traveller, and control lines led aft simplify management. Two furling code sails extend the performance range in lighter conditions.
In 2024, the boat was upgraded with twin Yamaha 25hp outboards, which have seen light use and careful maintenance. Navigation and systems are comprehensive, featuring a Raymarine B&G suite with a 12-inch Zeus³ chartplotter, AIS, 4G radar, VHF radio, and a linear drive autopilot. The combination of sailing capability and reliable auxiliary power supports both bluewater passages and coastal exploration.
