The Excess 12 is a 39-foot fiberglass catamaran built in 2020, powered by twin 90 hp Yammer diesel engines. Cruising at 7.5 knots and capable of 15 knots at speed, she combines responsive performance with the stability and spaciousness of a modern multihull design. The sail plan includes a square-top mainsail, self-tacking jib in tri-radial cut, and a Code 0 in Mylar on dedicated furler for light-air performance. Both the mainsail and jib are controlled by electric winches—a 40.2 on the aft starboard and a 46.2 to port—along with a flying Barber hauler for fine-tuned trim.
The layout provides three cabins and three heads, configured to balance privacy and comfort for extended cruising. The galley and saloon are designed for easy movement and practicality underway.
The twin engines carry approximately 750 hours, and the onboard 9kW Panda generator has around 200 hours. Mechanically and systems-wise, the yacht is ready for immediate use without requiring attention or upgrades before departing.
