The Astus 20.5 is a 2020 fiberglass trimaran designed for high-performance sailing with genuine portability. At just over 21 feet long with a beam of nearly 15 feet, this boat combines efficient upwind and downwind performance with practical trailering capability. The hull features a streamlined design and tulipped sections for spray deflection, while retractable floats provide both stability—rated at 930 liters—and the ability to transport the boat between different waters. A Yamaha 6 hp outboard engine handles auxiliary power.
The boat is rigged for straightforward handling and includes a Garmin GPS chartplotter, Raymarine ST1000 autopilot, wind instrumentation, and a Contest 101 compass. Cockpit amenities include a removable table, bathing ladder, and stainless pulpit. Below deck there is cabin space with a chemical toilet and berths forward fitted with mattresses.
The build incorporates an infusion hull and features coppercoat antifouling. Various sail options are available, including a gennaker with bowsprit and furler, sport mainsails with UV protection, lazy jib furler with line, and multiple reef systems. A 750 kg road trailer is included to support the boat's transportable design.
