The 2020 Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 is a fiberglass catamaran 42 feet long with a 23.58-foot beam. This three-cabin, three-head cruising catamaran was demasted during a hurricane in 2020 while in Pensacola, Florida but was never submerged. Fiberglass damage was repaired by a Florida boatyard, and the interior remains in good condition. The boat is powered by twin Volvo Penta 50 hp engines.
Accommodation includes three cabins with slatted bed bases and three full bathrooms, one with a central shower. The saloon features a convertible table that stows away, and the boat is outfitted with substantial comfort and galley systems: a 12V freezer, cockpit refrigerator, combination oven, washing machine, dryer, electric freshwater pump, and a 110V water heater. Climate control includes a 56,000 BTU air conditioning system and 12V fans throughout. Additional amenities include a gas barbecue, Bose audio system with TV and radio capability, and an 11 kW genset.
Navigation and safety equipment includes Garmin 3 Smart Cruising electronics with autopilot, dual GPS chartplotters, dual radar with supporting systems, VHF with AIS, and an MP10 container life raft. The boat is further equipped with a watermaker, electric windlass, electric platform (150 kg capacity), solar panels with upgraded batteries, and comprehensive 12V and 110V systems throughout.
The current owner retains the main sail and gennaker, though the rigging requires replacement. The port engine shows 878 hours and the starboard shows 113 hours of operation. An updated quote for new sails and rigging is available.
