2017 Lagoon 42

This 2017 Lagoon 42 is a three-cabin catamaran built for extended cruising and full-time living. The 42-foot hull with 25-foot beam provides the spacious, stable platform the design is known for, powered by twin Yanmar diesel engines of 114 horsepower each. The boat has been systematically upgraded throughout, with particular attention paid to its electrical infrastructure and galley systems.

The owner's version layout dedicates the entire starboard hull to a private suite with workspace, storage, and sleeping quarters. The port hull holds two guest cabins, a crew berth forward, and two additional heads. The main salon is open and bright, connecting directly to the cockpit through a large sliding door, with a navigation station and entertainment setup. Three heads serve the accommodations throughout. Climate control includes a 10,000 BTU unit in the owner's cabin and a 12-volt system in the salon.

The electrical system is a notable strength: a 1,200-amp-hour lithium battery bank powered by 2,000 watts of solar panels with individual Victron charge controllers, a 3,000-watt Victron inverter, and comprehensive monitoring via Cerbo GX. This setup supports air conditioning operation on battery power and eliminates the need for generator use during normal cruising. The galley is fully electric with no propane aboard, featuring an induction cooktop, convection and microwave combination unit, air fryer, espresso machine, and ice maker. A 40-gallon-per-hour watermaker was installed in 2022.

Deck equipment includes full cockpit and helm enclosures, a Rocna 33-kilogram primary anchor with 200 feet of chain, electric and manual Harken winches, and a freshwater washdown system. Navigation electronics comprise a B&G Zeus 3 chartplotter installed in 2023, AIS, and Starlink Gen 3 connectivity. The boat carries a 2020 Achilles dinghy with a new 2025 Tohatsu 20-horsepower outboard featuring electric start and power tilt.
