2020 Leopard 45

The 2020 Leopard 45 is a fiberglass catamaran designed for serious blue water cruising. Built on a hull 45 feet long with a 24-foot beam, the boat combines the naval architecture of Simonis & Voogd with interior and exterior design by Robertson and Caine. Two 90-horsepower Yanmar diesel engines power the yacht to a maximum speed of 9 knots. The design emphasizes natural ventilation and light through a forward door and seating area, with open-plan living spaces and protected outdoor areas positioned throughout the deck.

The yacht accommodates five cabins with five heads, providing ample space for cruising crews or liveaboard arrangements. The saloon features plush seating throughout, while the galley includes a propane stove and oven, microwave, and dual Dometic refrigeration units—one a 90-liter model in the main cabin and a separate fridge in the aft cockpit. The boat was upgraded to support extended offshore passages with a comprehensive power system: three EPOCH 460Ah lithium house batteries totaling 1,380 amp-hours, 1,920 watts of hard-mounted solar panels, a Northern Lights 9kW generator, Victron charge management with Cerbo display, and a Magnum inverter/charger. A Sea Recovery watermaker produces 31 gallons per hour.

Recent upgrades and maintenance include replacement of running rigging, propane and plumbing lines, engine start batteries, and the watermaker membrane and pump, all completed in 2025. The electronics package comprises Raymarine systems with a 9-inch Axiom chartplotter, autopilot, Quantum Doppler radar, AIS transceiver, and VHF radio, alongside a Fusion stereo system and Starlink HP satellite connectivity. The yacht carries a 2025 Highfield 310 aluminum dinghy with 20-horsepower Suzuki outboard, electric davit with new dyneema rigging, an EPIRB, 150 feet of anchor chain with a new Rocna Vulcan anchor, and a new helm enclosure. Engine and genset service and bottom paint were completed in December 2025.
