The Outremer 51 is a 51-foot catamaran designed by Barreau and Neuman, built in 2020 by Outremer Yachting. This three-cabin owner's version features a full starboard hull dedicated to the owner, with a king-size bed, dressing area, toilet, shower, and generous storage. The port hull holds two additional cabins, each with wardrobes, plus a separate shower and toilet. The design is known for optimized interior space, a secure cockpit suited to ocean cruising, and strong payload capacity without sacrificing performance.
The yacht carries twin 80-horsepower Volvo Penta diesel engines and boasts comprehensive sailing equipment including 2025 kevlar rigging, four electric Harken winches, and a complete sail wardrobe by Incidence: mainsail with Hydranet, genoa with DFI, code D sail with furler, symmetrical storm spinnaker, and staysail. A new Hydranet mainsail was installed in March 2022.
Power and water systems are substantial: three lithium-ion batteries of 2750W capacity, 800-watt davit-mounted solar panels, a Fischer Panda 8000i generator, 100-liter-per-hour watermaker, and pressurized freshwater for deck washing. Climate control includes air conditioning throughout the saloon and all three cabins. The galley features a three-burner cooktop, oven, dishwasher, two refrigerators, and a freezer. Two electric heads serve the accommodation.
Navigation electronics include a full B&G Zeus 3 system with GPS, plotter, autopilot, AIS, and radar, plus Cortex VHF, satellite broadband, and emergency systems: EPIRB, Iridium Go, and Fusion RA770 radio. Additional features include a carbon fiber gangway, full bimini cover, carbon compression beam, lightweight cork deck, and a Highfield 340 dinghy with 15-horsepower Suzuki outboard.
