2020 Ranger Tugs R-27

The 2020 Ranger Tug R-27 is a fiberglass pocket trawler built for both trailering and extended cruising. Powered by a Yamaha F300 diesel engine with digital controls and producing 300 horsepower, it delivers a cruising speed of approximately 21.7 knots with variable draft capability—drawing just 1 foot 9 inches with the engine up and 2 feet 9 inches with it deployed. The boat sits on a triple-axle aluminum trailer equipped with electric and hydraulic brakes.

The cabin maximizes space and natural light through an overhead glass atrium that provides 360-degree visibility. The layout includes a private forward V-berth, a mid-berth office/sleeper, and a convertible dinette, along with a full galley featuring a propane stove and oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and stainless sink. An enclosed head with a marine toilet completes the interior.

Navigation and comfort systems include a Garmin 8612xsv chartplotter with 12-inch touchscreen sonar and xHD radar, a Garmin GHC 20 autopilot with remote control, and a bow thruster for docking assistance. A Webasto diesel heater provides climate control. Hull technology incorporates laminar flow interrupters for improved handling characteristics.

The boat carries 150 gallons of fuel, 40 gallons of water, and 30 gallons of waste capacity. Exterior features include a 140W–220W roof-mounted solar panel, sport racks for kayaks and paddleboards, and an aft cockpit with folding seats, transom entry door, and electric Kenyon grill.
