The 2021 Fountaine Pajot Isla 40 is a three-cabin catamaran built for extended cruising. Twin Volvo Penta D1-30F diesel engines with saildrives provide propulsion, each logged under 1,200 hours. A 7.5 kW Onan generator supports onboard power. The boat carries a full complement of Garmin electronics including dual chart plotters, autopilot, radar, and AIS, along with a Starlink system for connectivity.
A comprehensive 2024 refit upgraded the electrical system significantly: 1,640 watts of solar panels paired with a 1,280Ah lithium battery bank, managed by a complete Victron Energy system. The new 40 GPH Seawater Pro watermaker supports extended passages. A 40,000 BTU air conditioning system with both Dometic and March pumps maintains comfort. The galley includes a three-burner stove, dual refrigeration (drawer and freezer units), an ice maker, and a Breville convection oven.
The deck carries a full suite of Lewmar self-tailing winches—two-speed electric units at davits and helm, plus manual options—along with electric furling for both jib and screecher. A new 2023 asymmetrical spinnaker and fully battened mainsail with stack pack flaking complete the sail plan. A Quick 1000W windlass with handheld remote manages the 88-pound Mantus anchor and 200 feet of chain. The boat includes a Highfield inflatable tender with Tohatsu 9.8 hp outboard, plus a Plastimo eight-person life raft and full safety equipment.
Recent maintenance completed in May 2025 included saildrive service, bottom work, gelcoat repairs, and exterior detailing. The cabin layout provides two heads and accommodates three cabins. Entertainment systems include Fusion and Bose speakers throughout, with a Samsung 32-inch salon television and marine entertainment system.
