The Samana 59 is a 61-foot fiberglass catamaran designed for long-range cruising and coastal exploration. Twin 300 hp Volvo diesel engines power the yacht, which spans over 31 feet in beam. The hull and systems have been substantially upgraded for autonomous operation and comfort at sea, featuring a 17 kW generator paired with 7.4 kW of solar panels and a large lithium battery bank, plus a 105 litre-per-hour watermaker and backup water maker for extended passages.
Accommodation comprises four cabins with a main saloon offering panoramic views and an open galley layout. The interior includes a dishwasher, washer/dryer, wine cellar, ice-maker, and convection oven with microwave. An entertainment package with hi-fi and cabin televisions with DVD rounds out the living spaces. The flybridge is the largest in its class, and the open cockpit spans 27.5 square metres.
Navigation and communication systems are comprehensive, with Garmin 22-inch screens, radar, AIS, single-sideband radio, and satellite and cellular connectivity including Starlink. Three electric winches and a 2000-watt electric windlass are fitted. A hydraulic tender platform with 450-kilogramme capacity is mounted on the stern.
A full sail wardrobe completes the equipment list, enabling passage-making under canvas when conditions allow.
