The Lagoon 50 is a 48-foot cruising catamaran built in 2021 with a fiberglass hull and designed by VPLP Design with interiors by Nauta Design. Twin Yanmar diesel engines of 160 horsepower each drive the boat to a cruising speed of 7.5 knots and a maximum speed of 8.5 knots. The wide beam of over 26 feet creates substantial interior volume and deck space, with safe deck ergonomics including wide side decks, handholds, and a spacious aft cockpit protected for alfresco dining. The flybridge features a rigid bimini cover and reclining day beds, with excellent visibility for helmsmanship.
The interior accommodates up to 12 guests across six cabins. Four queen cabins each have an ensuite bathroom with separate shower and electric toilet, alongside generous storage and natural light from hatches. Two additional double cabins serve younger guests or crew. The saloon features wraparound windows for natural light and openness, with contemporary finishes and clean lines throughout. Individual zone climate control keeps the interior comfortable, and the galley is fully equipped with ample refrigeration, storage, and countertop space.
The design prioritizes stability and handling both under sail and power. The proven VPLP hull form delivers predictable performance well-suited to both experienced and newer multihull sailors. Five heads and practical layouts throughout emphasize livability at anchor and underway, with attention to sound insulation and ventilation across all spaces.
