The 2021 Leopard 40 is a fiberglass catamaran designed by Simonis and Voogd in collaboration with South African builder Robertson & Caine. She combines modern naval architecture with practical cruising design, featuring an open interior layout that sets her apart from earlier Leopard models. The galley sits forward with a forward-facing settee and access to the foredeck, while large sliding glass doors connect the saloon to the aft cockpit, creating a unified living space that flows between interior and exterior areas.
Accommodation includes three cabins and two heads, arranged for owner use rather than charter operations. The interior features a refined light ash finish throughout. She is powered by twin Yanmar diesel engines of 58 horsepower each and equipped with air conditioning, a generator, electric davits, and a walk-through forward door. The catamaran comes with a 12-foot AB dinghy and 9.8 Tohatsu outboard.
Recent work includes new sails fitted in July, rebuilt raw water pumps on both Yanmars with new belts verified, fresh bottom paint, and 1,000 watts of solar panels. The port engine panel has been replaced with a new starboard panel installed. An anchor windlass has been recently added. Scheduled maintenance includes sail drive diaphragm replacement and heat exchanger seal service.
