The 2021 Cape Sable is a 38-foot fiberglass trawler built on the proven Cape Islander design, refined with a clean sheer line, subtle tumblehome, and lengthened hull. The extended waterline increases both speed and accommodations space while maintaining the full-displacement characteristics the design is known for. A single 110-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine powers the boat, supported by high-performance sound insulation, soft mounts, and flexible coupling to minimize noise in the living spaces.

The interior layout reflects years of live-aboard cruising experience. The accommodations are open and bright, with everything positioned for practical use. The main dinette converts to a second double berth, and the boat sleeps comfortably for a couple. One head serves the accommodations. Four watertight bulkheads provide structural safety, while a dedicated systems compartment keeps all mechanical and electrical systems easily accessible for maintenance and troubleshooting.

The cockpit features a half-open stern design that simplifies dinghy stowage and serves multiple purposes—fishing, swimming, socializing, and outdoor sleeping.
