This 2021 Wauquiez Pilot Saloon 48 is a fiberglass bluewater cruising yacht designed by Berret-Racoupeau. At nearly 49 feet with a 15-foot beam, she combines a raised saloon with panoramic visibility and a hull engineered for offshore passage-making. The vacuum resin-infused construction features molded non-slip side decks, a standard 2.10-meter draft keel, and a Coppercoat antifouling system. Power comes from a Yanmar 110-horsepower diesel engine with shaft drive, a three-bladed feathering propeller, and a rope cutter. A 10-horsepower tunnel bowthruster provides additional maneuvering capability.
The three-cabin, two-head layout places the owner's suite aft with an ensuite head, a forward VIP cabin, and a twin-bunk guest cabin amidships. Interior joinery is teak with wenge soleboards, synthetic stone counters, and leather upholstery throughout. The galley includes refrigeration and an upgraded freezer, along with a dedicated wine cooler.
Sail handling is fully equipped with in-mast furling mainsail, self-tacking Solent jib, and a furling Code 0. Andersen electric genoa winches and control-line winches are led aft to the helm pedestals, which are fitted with Jefa composite wheels. The Raymarine navigation suite includes dual Axiom Pro plotters, radar, autopilot, AIS, and VHF with Black Box recording.
Systems include an Onan 7-kilowatt diesel generator, upgraded gel battery bank with twin 60-amp Cristec chargers, a Mastervolt 2000-watt inverter, and Dometic reverse-cycle air conditioning with heating. An electric drop-down bathing platform with tender garage, underwater LED lighting, and an eight-person liferaft complete the specification. The yacht has been used lightly for summer cruising in the Baltic since delivery.
