The Windelo 50 is a 2021 catamaran designed by architect Christophe Barreau, built from fiberglass with a 50-foot length and nearly 26-foot beam. Powered by twin electric Bellmarine engines, the boat combines modern cruising capability with sustainable energy systems. The design emphasizes practical sailing performance through a carbon mast, two daggerboards, Hydranet sails, and sloop rigging that allow straightforward handling from the protected forward cabin.
The layout offers three cabins including an owner's suite, along with two heads. The main saloon features an open galley flooded with natural light, complemented by an uncluttered cockpit shaded by a large hardtop that frames views aft. The forward cabin, well-protected and offering excellent all-around sightlines, provides an ideal station for sail management.
The electrical systems reflect contemporary cruising priorities: solar panels throughout the deck, a hydrogenerator, and lithium battery banks supply power for full comfort amenities. The interior finishes are clean and contemporary, with thoughtful details throughout the living spaces.
