The 2022 Contender 44 ST is a center console built for serious offshore fishing and cruising. At 44 feet with a 12-foot beam, it combines substantial size with the maneuverability of a center console design. Power comes from four Yamaha 425 engines delivering 1,700 horsepower total, with 1,193 hours on the engines. The boat carries 600 gallons of fuel capacity and is rated for up to 2,000 horsepower, built on a fiberglass hull.
The boat is rigged for fishing with dual transom livewells fed by a sea chest, in-deck fish boxes with macerator pumps, a tackle station, two swivel rod holders, and a dive door and fish door. Outriggers and two electric reel outlets support trolling operations. A coffin box lounger with electric actuator provides additional seating, and the console features teak interior trim with coaming bolsters.
Navigation and electronics are comprehensive: dual 22-inch Garmin GPS/depth finders, Garmin open array radar, Garmin autopilot, dual VHF radios, and Starlink satellite cell service. A Seakeeper 3 gyroscopic stabilizer reduces roll, while joystick steering enhances handling. Lighting includes underwater lights, under-gunnel lights, spreader lights, and T-top lights. A windlass anchor system, trim tabs, and a transom swim ladder complete the deck equipment.
Accommodations include dual-row stadium seating, forward seating with cushions and storage, an electric head with sink, and freshwater and raw water washdown systems. Audio features JL speakers, subwoofers, and amplifiers. The hull is finished with Yacht Armor coating and SeaDek non-slip surfaces. Yamaha warranty extends through March 2027 with a two-year extension option available.
