2022 Outremer 55

The Outremer 55 is a cruising catamaran designed by VPLP Design and built by the French shipyard Outremer. Delivered in 2022 as hull number 14, this 55-foot composite catamaran combines light displacement with efficient hull shapes for sustained offshore performance. Twin Volvo Penta diesel engines of 120 horsepower provide auxiliary power. The design emphasizes reliability and safety for long-distance voyages, balancing speed with manageable handling in demanding conditions.

The boat carries an extensive sail wardrobe by Incidence in Hydranet, including mainsail, genoa, spinnaker, gennaker, and staysail, mounted on a carbon rig. Navigation systems include a complete Raymarine suite with radar and AIS. The interior layout is bright and functional, proportioned for extended cruising whether for a couple or family. The boat has been sailed in the Mediterranean and remains in excellent condition.

Onboard autonomy has received careful attention. Solar panels provide substantial daily power generation, and a 100-liter-per-hour watermaker enables independence from marinas during extended anchorages. Climate control includes both air conditioning and diesel heating for comfort across varied latitudes. The catamaran is ready for immediate sailing and suited equally to Mediterranean cruising, Atlantic crossings, and long-distance passages including circumnavigation.
