2022 Outremer 55

The Outremer 55 is a fiberglass catamaran built for serious ocean cruising, launched in October 2022. This 55-footer combines robust engineering with refined accommodation across a beam of 27 feet, offering the space and seaworthiness demanded of long-range voyaging. Twin Volvo Penta D2-60 diesel engines deliver 120 horsepower each, consuming just 2.3 liters per hour at a cruising speed of 7.5 knots. Maximum speed reaches 9.5 knots. The yacht features a carbon mast and boom, carbon-reinforced steering by Jefa, and folding propellers, while a lithium battery bank and 2,200 watts of solar power support extended passages under auxiliary power alone.

The deck layout centers on a spacious open-plan saloon and cockpit flooded with natural light, with cork and teak underfoot. Both saloon and cockpit tables convert to additional berths. Three cabins sit below: a full owner's suite in one hull offering privacy and comfort, plus two generous guest cabins to port. Two heads serve the accommodation. High-powered air conditioning runs throughout. Electric winches and dual B&G helm pods provide helmswoman control for confident passagemaking.

The sail wardrobe is substantial: an Incidence package includes two asymmetric spinnakers, a gennaker, and a storm sail for versatile conditions.
