This 2022 Vismara V63 XR is a 63-foot wooden sailing yacht built around a singular design philosophy: prioritizing beauty, comfort, and classical sailing over raw performance. The hull is constructed from red cedar planking over wooden frames, with a mahogany plywood deck and Douglas fir structural elements. Carbon reinforcement has been strategically incorporated in high-load areas—including the chainplates, mast step, hull bottom, and floor timbers—adding strength and rigidity without excessive weight. At 25 tons displacement, the yacht carries a distinctive tall deckhouse with rounded lines and a small aft extension that shades the cockpit, a design developed in close collaboration with Alessandro Vismara and built by Officine Alto Adriatico under master shipwright Giorgio Ferluga.
The boat accommodates four cabins and four heads. Below deck, the layout centers on a dinette positioned flush with the cockpit—accessible via a sliding glass door—offering 360-degree views through curved deckhouse windows. Forward of the dinette, three steps lead to the cabin area: two twin guest cabins and a spacious owner's suite with separate beds, each with a private bathroom. Materials throughout emphasize warmth and simplicity, with wood as the defining element.
The sail plan is classically configured with a mainsail without square top, self-tacking jib, and the capability to rig Code Zero and gennaker sails for downwind sailing. An L-shaped keel provides a draft of 2.80 meters. A single Nanni diesel engine of 240 horsepower powers the yacht, with maneuvering assisted by just four winches and electric controls positioned to enable easy handling by a minimal crew.
