The Excess 14 is a 2023 catamaran built to blend comfort with sailing performance. At 52.5 feet long with a 26-foot beam, the hull provides substantial space and stability. Two Yanmar diesel engines of 57 hp each deliver cruising power, with 480 engine hours recorded. The boat features the Pulse Line rigging package, which extends the mast by 1.76 meters and increases sail area to 135 square meters. Sails include a triradial mainsail, genoa, Code 0, and asymmetric spinnaker, all from Elvstrom. The composite wheel steering is finished in orange, with a gray removable helm seat to starboard.
The interior arranges three separate cabins with three heads and showers. Additional berths exist in the forward starboard cabin dressing area and forward port cabin. The galley features an optional Kerrock countertop. Cockpit amenities include a removable dining table in teak with extension, gray cushions, and a full enclosure with charcoal grey canvas. Electric winches manage halyards and mainsheet control, with chain counter and cockpit control for ground tackle.
Electronics center on Garmin systems: a GPS MAP 12 chartplotter at the helm, autopilot, and AIS receiver. Navigation equipment includes a B&G VHF radio, LED navigation lights, and interior and exterior LED lighting throughout. The power system comprises dual 50-amp engine batteries, six 95-amp service batteries, 12V alternators at each engine, and a 2 kVA converter. Water systems include a 120-liter-per-hour desalinator, a 300-liter freshwater tank upgrade, and electric toilets fed by seawater. The boat carries a 20 kg main anchor with 75 meters of D10 chain and 20 meters of D18 rope, plus a liferaft. All systems remain under warranty for one year.
