The 2023 Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 is a fiberglass catamaran built around Fountaine Pajot's design philosophy of spacious, comfortable cruising. At 41 feet with a 23.6-foot beam, she delivers the voluminous interior spaces typically found on larger designs. Twin Volvo Penta diesel engines provide 100 horsepower each, offering good motoring performance and maneuverability across a range of conditions.
The layout comprises six cabins and four heads, configured in the Quatuor four-cabin arrangement suited to families or charter use. The saloon features panoramic windows flooding the space with natural light, opening onto a U-shaped galley with premium appliances. A protected social area aft provides comfortable seating and dining, while the foredeck includes a large trampoline and dedicated lounging space with cushions. The helm station is raised and centralized with a double seat and full enclosure, offering 360-degree visibility and single-handed sailing capability.
This 2023 model includes numerous upgrades over standard specification: twin upgraded Volvo engines, solar panels, electric davit winch, electric mainsheet winch, bow sprit with Code 0 gennaker gear, integrated Garmin electronics suite with autopilot, teak cockpit table extension, additional 150-amp AGM battery, and premium interior upholstery. The foredeck and cockpit are finished with cushions and upgraded materials, and an electric windlass serves the anchor system.
