The 2024 Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 is a modern sailing catamaran built around an inverted bow design that defines its elegant profile while maximizing interior volume despite its compact 41-foot length. Twin 60-horsepower Volvo diesel engines power the 23.6-foot-beam hull, which spans fiberglass construction. The boat balances communal gathering spaces with private retreats: a roof helm station with double seating and sunbathing area, a spacious cockpit featuring a griddle and beach club footbridge, and a 360-degree lounge with expansive windows. The catamaran comes in two cabin configurations—the Maestro with an owner's suite plus two double cabins, or the Quatuor with four double cabins—each with ensuite bathrooms and Italian design details.

Systems are comprehensive and modern. Power comes from a 6,000-watt electrical architecture built on four LiFePO₄ lithium battery modules (32,000-watt capacity, 2,400-amp total), dual Victron Quattro inverters, and a Fischer Panda 4–5 kW diesel generator. Solar generation includes four SunPower panels totaling 1,660 watts, monitored via a Victron Cerbo GX system with 7-inch touchscreen and mobile app connectivity. Freshwater is supplied by an 80-liter quick boiler with automatic tank refill, supported by an onboard purifier. Navigation runs on a Raymarine system with mast cameras, backed by an EPIRB buoy for safety.

Comfort and convenience features span a 12,000-BTU air-conditioning unit, induction and gas cooktops, a dishwasher, washer/dryer combo, refrigerator with freezer in the coffee table, and an audio system with LG television. Cork decking lines the helm station, foredeck, and cockpit; synthetic teak covers the maestro shower. Interior finishes include Alcantara upholstery in Concrete and Steel tones, with gray exterior window blinds and saloon curtains. The helm includes a bimini with enclosure, and a full Sunbrella cockpit tent. A dinghy tender with 9.9-horsepower Yamaha outboard and integrated outboard bracket complete the package.
