2023 Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 Catamaran

The 2023 Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 is a 41-foot fiberglass catamaran with a beam of nearly 24 feet, built to the Maestro owner's layout. This three-cabin, three-head version dedicates one hull entirely to the owner's suite, with two guest cabins positioned in the opposite hull—an arrangement designed for comfortable cruising or extended time at anchor. The wide beam and catamaran hull form deliver substantial interior volume and deck space across both hulls.

Power and self-sufficiency define this build. The yacht runs on twin Volvo D2-50 diesel engines paired with twin alternators. The electrical system centers on a Victron lithium bank of four 280 Ah LiFePO₄ cells (approximately 14.3 kWh capacity), backed by a 9 kW Onan generator and managed through a Victron Quattro II 3 kW inverter/charger. An 800-watt solar array with Victron MPPT controllers supplements power generation. An Aquabase watermaker producing 105 liters per hour and an Acuva UV freshwater system support extended independence, while six Frigomar air-conditioning units (56,000 BTU total) provide climate control throughout.

The inventory reflects preparation for serious cruising. Ground tackle includes 100 meters of Grade 70 chain, a 33 kg Rocna anchor, and two spares, with twin mooring reels for Mediterranean-style berthing. A Highfield Hypalon tender with Yamaha F20 outboard and helm console completes the water-sports setup. Navigation relies on a full Garmin electronics suite, Starlink, and Iridium Go. Interior appliances include a Bosch washing machine and dishwasher, with a fully equipped galley. Safety equipment encompasses a 10-man liferaft, EPIRB, PLBs, and a defibrillator. Extensive sunshades, custom cockpit cushions, and storage solutions complete the specification.
