The 2023 Lagoon 50 is a catamaran built for extended cruising, powered by twin Yanmar 4JH80 diesel engines producing 80 horsepower each. At nearly 49 feet with a beam of over 26 feet, she combines the volume and stability that characterize the Lagoon design with thoughtful upgrades for autonomous operation far from shore. The boat reaches a cruising speed of 7.5 knots and a maximum speed of 9.5 knots, making efficient passages across open water.
The interior is configured as the Owner's Version with six cabins and three heads. The starboard hull is entirely dedicated to the owner and features a queen berth forward in the aft master cabin, a separate office area with desk and settee, and an expansive head with walk-in shower, dual sinks, and enclosed toilet. A midship double cabin on the owner's side adds versatility—currently used as a child's bedroom but convertible to other purposes. The port hull holds three additional double cabins, each with en-suite heads and separate shower stalls, plus a crew cabin in the forepeak. The salon spans the centerline with panoramic views, a large U-shaped settee, and dining table stepped up from the galley to create separation between working and living spaces. A full-sized galley includes a four-burner range with oven, dishwasher, microwave, and five separate refrigeration units.
Electrical systems have been upgraded for off-grid capability: a 1,380-amp-hour lithium house bank is charged by a 1,520-watt solar array and backed by a reliable 11-kilowatt Cummins Onan genset. A 100-liter-per-hour watermaker provides independent fresh water generation. The boat carries 830 liters of fresh water and 1,040 liters of diesel fuel. Navigation and communications are handled by a full suite of B&G electronics including a 16-inch Zeus 3S chartplotter, Halo 20+ radar, and autopilot, with Starlink providing worldwide internet. A 24-volt electric bow thruster aids close-quarters maneuvering.
On deck, the hardtop-covered flybridge has full isinglass enclosure and helm seating, while the cockpit also benefits from weather protection. Sails are managed by three electric Harken winches and an electric traveler system, allowing single-handed operation of the large square-top mainsail and self-tacking jib. A hydraulic tender lift with swim platform is standard, paired with a 2023 Highfield 11-foot RIB tender powered by a new 25-horsepower Suzuki 4-stroke outboard. The boat has approximately 1,600 engine hours and 2,925 generator hours.
