The Vandal Marine 46 Explorer is a purpose-built aluminum catamaran designed for serious offshore cruising and expedition work. Its 5083 marine-grade aluminum hull features an asymmetrical design with performance foils that deliver stability and efficiency across demanding sea conditions. Twin Yamaha outboards producing 850 total horsepower push the boat to 38 knots at top speed, with comfortable cruising around 28 knots and extended range for long-distance voyages.
The layout centers on a spacious cockpit and flybridge helm station with dual helm positions, supported by a functional deck suited for diving, fishing, or carrying expedition equipment. Below, a well-appointed cabin with an enclosed head provides comfort on extended journeys. The deckhouse includes climate control via Webasto air conditioning units and dual Dometic refrigerators, while solar panels on the flybridge contribute to self-sufficiency underway.
Navigation and control systems include Raymarine MFD screens at both helm stations, a Quantum Q24C radar, and Ray53 VHF radio. Joystick control, autopilot, and stay point features are integrated into the outboard system. A Next Gen 3.5KW diesel generator with 278 hours of service supports onboard power, backed by a Mastervolt inverter and Empirbus digital switching controlled from the Raymarine displays. An integrated davit on the flybridge provides 330 pounds of lifting capacity. The hull is finished in Awlgrip Bahama Blue, and a tender is included.
