The R8 Surf is built around Cobalt's Custom Wave Technology surf system, which pairs multiple hard ballast tanks with Surf Gate technology to shape the wave. The hull design integrates with Volvo's FWD powertrain specifically for surf performance. The boat features a higher freeboard profile than previous generations, with an expanded interior, enlarged bow and cockpit areas, and extra room throughout for passengers and gear.
