2024 Excess 14

The Excess 14 is a 45-foot fiberglass catamaran designed for serious offshore cruising. Launched in October 2024, this particular boat has been actively sailed across both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans as part of a world circumnavigation. She features twin Yanmar diesel engines of 114 horsepower combined, providing reliable propulsion alongside her sailing capability.

The interior layout includes five cabins and four heads, delivering substantial accommodation for extended cruising. The design combines speed and seaworthiness with livable volume throughout. The boat has been continuously refined through thousands of nautical miles of blue-water sailing, with all commissioning issues identified and resolved through real-world operation.

Power and energy systems are comprehensively equipped for self-sufficiency at sea. The yacht carries a lithium battery bank, 2,000 watts of solar panels, a hydrogenerator, and a Fischer Panda 10 kVA generator. Safety equipment meets ARC ocean-crossing standards, and the boat includes an extensive inventory of offshore gear, spare parts, sails, and cruising equipment. The yacht has demonstrated strong sailing performance across demanding passages and has proven reliable through extended ocean passages.
